Hey everyone!
It has been exactly 1 year, 8 months, and 9 days since I last posted anything on this site, but somehow the site has managed to continue to get visitors.
I’ll be honest, a lot has changed in that time and many of the hopes, visions, and goals I had for the BRW site got lost in the shuffle. The reality is I really love this site and I really love travel, and I really want to get back at it.
In a lot of ways, the last 1 year, 8 months, and 9 days has been a bit of a wandering through the back roads of my own life…trying to navigate new jobs (both for myself and for my wife), family discoveries, being introduced into parenting teenagers, and more. Even as I write this, my wife and I are preparing our house to be sold (we are listing next week August 1, 2023). So we will be in the market for a new house, though we are looking to stay in the same area.
But throughout all of my wandering, this site has remained in the back of my mind waiting for a fresh direction.
So what is next for the Back Road Warrior?
Great question! I’m so glad you asked.
I am planning to launch a new section on the site called “Legends & Lore”. This page will be dedicated to bringing you stories of the historical and mythical nature. I will break down this page into subcategories based on State and Region.
For example, the first section will be South Carolina because…well, that’s where I live. South Carolina is broken into various regions: (working from the coast inland) Lowcountry, Pee Dee, Piedmont, Midlands, and finally the Upstate.
Under this section will be the region “Lowcountry”….also because this is where I live.
This section will be titled “Lowcountry Legends & Lore“.
To build out this new page I will be soliciting my network of friends, family, community, and readers for legends and lore from where they live. So I’m really excited to include others (you?) in helping making this site a fresh and fun site.
So what do you think?
Does this sound like something you all would be interested in?
I guess time will tell.
Until next time, keep hitting those back roads, and don’t pass over those little white signs along the road.
